Brazil-Barcelona Cultural Center
The Brazil-Barcelona Cultural Center (CCBB) was originally founded in 1963 in a space provided by the Brazilian General-Consulate. Since 1973, the CCBB has been working in a rented building _ the "Casa Amatller" _ in Paseo de Gracia, one of the most representatives of the Catalan modernism.
CCBB has three spheres of interest: promotion of the Brazilian Portuguese language and culture, the sponsoring of events, and the publicizing of information about Brazil. Thus, concerts, conferences, films screenings, books and fine arts exhibitions are usual activities of the Center.
CCBB is fully equipped with visual and sound appliances, a library with a video collection of more than 800 tittles related to the Brazilian culture, classrooms and a "reading room".
CCBB is the only South-American institution represented in the International Commission for the Diffusion of the Catalan Culture.
